(AFIRM) has been formed as a 501(c)(3) non profit charitable organization and incorporated in the State of Alaska.Within days of Hurricane Katrina's devastation of the Gulf of Mexico, Senator Lisa Murkowski's office approached the Alaska seafood industry and together we recognized the need to help the Gulf ofMexico fishing industry. We have organized AFIRM with a Board of Directors and a Board of Advisors representing the fishing, processing, financial, transportation and logistics sectors of the Alaska fishing industry. Together -- and with your support -- we will deliver a helping hand to help restore the Gulf of Mexico fishing industry.
